Privacy Policy
Last updated
This policy explains what personal information Luxabyte ("we", "us") collects through luxabyte.com, why, and the choices you have. It covers this website only. Our products, such as Auction Stand, have their own privacy policies.
We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy laws.
What we collect
Information you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you include it, and whatever you write. We don't have contact forms, accounts, or newsletters on this site.
Website analytics. If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site. It uses cookies to collect information such as:
- pages visited, time on page, and how you arrived (for example, a search engine or link)
- browser, device type, and screen size
- approximate location (city or region), derived from your IP address
Google Analytics does not give us your name or email address, and we don't use it for advertising.
Server logs. Like most websites, our servers automatically record technical information for each request — IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time — to keep the site secure and working properly.
How we use it
- to reply to your enquiries and, if we work together, to provide our services
- to understand which content is useful and improve the site
- to protect the site against abuse and troubleshoot problems
We don't sell your personal information, and we don't use it for anything unrelated to these purposes without asking you first.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run the site and our business:
- Google (Google Analytics) — website analytics. Data may be processed in the United States. See Google's privacy policy.
- Zoho — email hosting for messages you send us. See Zoho's privacy policy.
These providers may only use the information to provide their services to us. When personal information is processed outside Canada, it may be accessible to authorities in that country under its laws. We may also disclose information if required by law.
Cookies and your choices
We ask before loading Google Analytics. You can accept or decline analytics cookies, and change your choice at any time using Cookie settings in the footer. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site works normally without analytics.
How long we keep it
- Emails: for as long as needed to respond and manage any resulting business relationship, and as required for our business and tax records.
- Analytics: The retention period for user-level and event-level data is set in our Google Analytics property. Aggregated reports may be retained longer. Contact us for the current setting.
- Server logs: for a limited period for security and troubleshooting, then deleted.
How we protect it
We use reasonable safeguards to protect personal information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to this site and access restricted to people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to our use of it (subject to legal or contractual limits). Email us at contact@luxabyte.com and we'll respond within 30 days.
If you're not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the site changes. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
